In last ten years, Italian author animation has grown in its authors and productions thanks to film schools and some young production companies, confirming an original international presence. The "Animazioni" DVD collections have contributed to this growth by improving the visibility of Italian films and stimulating knowledge and exchanges between authors. And now, less than two years after the previous publication, the "Animazioni 6" DVD comes out with two innovative proposals: a special content, a second DVD containing the film "Re-cycling", an original Italian production produced by Viva Comix for the centenary of the birth of filmmaker Norman McLaren and a new production format: a Book – DVD that preserves the external dimensions of the classic DVD case of the previous editions but guarantees a wider space for printing texts and images.

In questi ultimi dieci anni l’animazione d’autore italiana è cresciuta nei suoi autori e nelle produzioni anche grazie alle scuole di cinema e ad alcune giovani realtà produttive confermando una originale presenza internazionale. Le raccolte dei DVD "Animazioni" hanno contribuito a questa crescita migliorando la visibilità dei film italiani e stimolando la conoscenza e il confronto tra gli autori. Ed ecco che a meno di due anni dalla precedente pubblicazione esce il DVD “Animazioni 6” con due proposte innovative: un contenuto speciale, ovvero un secondo DVD contenente il film "Re-cycling", originale produzione italiana realizzata da Viva Comix in occasione del centenario della nascita del cineasta Norman McLaren e un nuovo formato di produzione: un libro-DVD che conserva le dimensioni esterne del classico astuccio-DVD delle precedenti edizioni ma garantisce un più ampio spazio per la stampa di testi e immagini.

Also in this sixth anthology, the orientation towards a European and transnational circulation of authors and productions is confirmed. The presence of productions, co-productions and collaborations involving other countries underlines a panorama of very varied productive situations: from the films of Italian authors who have their base of operations in different European countries to European productions involving Italian authors up - and this is the pleasant novelty - to Italian productions that intercept national funding and collaborate with foreign producers. The "Italian" horizon that is being shown is now becoming permanently varied and the "territory" of origin of the films is by now much wider than that which is traditionally identified below the Alps. The current situation in which Italian authors and productive realities operate has indeed originated in Italy but develops and finds fulfillment in a dense dialogue with the outside.

Anche in questa sesta antologia si conferma l’orientamento verso una circolazione europea e transnazionale degli autori e delle produzioni. La presenza di produzioni, co-produzioni e collaborazioni che coinvolgono altri paesi sottolinea un panorama di situazioni produttive molto variegate: dai film di autori italiani che hanno la loro base operativa in diversi paesi europei alle produzioni europee che coinvolgono autori italiani fino – e questa è la piacevole novità – alle produzioni italiane che intercettano finanziamenti nazionali e collaborano con produttori esteri. L’orizzonte "italiano" che viene mostrato sta diventando ormai stabilmente variegato e il "territorio" di provenienza dei film scelti è ormai ben più ampio di quello tradizionalmente al di sotto delle Alpi. La situazione attuale in cui operano gli autori e le realtà produttive “italiane” ha origine in Italia ma si sviluppa e trova compimento in un fitto dialogo verso l’esterno.

ANIMAZIONI 6: i curatori e la produzione. 

The curators of the project "Animazioni 6" are Paola Bristot, Andrea Martignoni and Roberto Paganelli.
The promoters and producers of "Animazioni" project are OTTOmani and Viva Comix, two associations that have been involved in animation cinema for years with an intense activity linked to the organization of events, festivals, meetings and the realization of animated cinema workshops. The activity of organizing the Festival was accompanied by the activity of film production (short films "Re-Cycling" and "Il bruco e la gallina").

I curatori del progetto “Animazioni 6” sono Paola Bristot, Andrea Martignoni e Roberto Paganelli.
I promotori e produttori del progetto "Animazioni" sono OTTOmani e Viva Comix, due associazioni che si occupano da anni di cinema di animazione con una intensa attività legata all'organizzazione di eventi, festival, incontri e alla realizzazione di workshop di cinema animato. Viva Comix Association was founded in 1998. Its honorary president is Lorenzo Mattotti. He mainly deals with comics and animated films. Since 2008 he has organized “Piccolo Festival dell'Animazione” in Pordenone, Udine, Gorizia, Trieste and Venice (Italy). As a publisher he has made several publications often linked to exhibitions set up in public and private spaces in Italy and abroad. From 2018 it has as its headquarters the studiovivacomix where there is an archive of drawings by the artists who have collaborated over time and an exhibition space.

Associazione Viva Comix è stata fondata nel 1998. Ha come presidente onorario Lorenzo Mattotti. Si occupa prevalentemente di Fumetto e Cinema d’Animazione. Organizza dal 2008 il Piccolo Festival dell'Animazione, che si svolge tra Pordenone, Udine, Gorizia, Trieste e Venezia (Italia). Come editore ha realizzato diverse pubblicazioni spesso collegate a mostre allestite in spazi pubblici e privati in Italia e all'estero. OTTOmani Association has been producing animation film laboratories in Italy and around the world since 2006, developing an original teaching method and producing over 200 animation short films, meetings with image teaching operators and animation film authors. OTTOmani also dedicates itself to the diffusion of animated and laboratory animated films, developing a distribution dedicated to the Festivals of the world and promoting the spread of Italian animated animated films.

OTTOmani awarded in Niš, Serbia!

OTTOmani's short "Concerto per quattro strumenti disturbati" has won the award in Maxi category at "Constantine Gold Coin" Festival in Niš, Serbia.
The Festival was held from 23 to 28 July 2018 and the Children jury, composed of international and domestic participants from Colony of animated film in Niš was judging films for MINI, MIDI and MAXI categories.

Il cortometraggio "Concerto per quattro strumenti disturbati" realizzato da Associazione OTTOmani ha vinto il primo premio nella categoria "Maxi" al  "Constantine Gold Coin" Festival a Niš, Serbia.
Il Festival si è tenuto dal 23 al 28 luglio 2018 e la giuria dei bambini, composta da partecipanti internazionali e nazionali della colonia di cinema di animazione di Niš, ha giudicato i film per le categorie MINI, MIDI e MAXI.

The films selected for the screening is "Un paese di sfoglia tirata sottile" made at Primary School "Marconi" in Castelfranco Emilia (Modena) animating shapes, backgrounds and characters made in egg's pasta.

RE-CYLING first screening in Animateka

 

RE-CYCLING, the the short collective animated movie in direct drawing on film was presented at Animateka Festival Ljubljana December 8, 2014 during opening Ceremony.

The project of collective opus RE-CYCLING is leaded by Paola Bristot (Viva Comix, Piccolo Festival dell’Animazione) with Arte Video and Associazione Viva Comix and sponsored by Fondo Regionale per l’Audiovisivo del Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The project RE-CYCLING involve ten artists from ten different European countries in a unique experiment in direct drawing on film. The artists protagonists of the project RE-CYCLING are:
Magda Guidi (Italy), Ülo Pikkov (Estonia) Gábor Ulrich (Hungary), Joni Männistö (Finland), Vessela Dantcheva (Bulgaria), Rastko Ćirić (Serbia), Špela Čadež (Slovenia), Marina Rosset (Switzerland), Petra Zlonoga (Croatia), Regina Pessoa (Portugal).
The soundtrack is realized by Andrea Martignoni and Gianluca "Shango" Pellegrino.

The film will be distributed by OTTOmani association and hopefully will reach the screens of several international festivals.
 

After the first screening in Animateka Film Festival (Ljubljana - Slovenija), RE-CYCLING is presented at Piccolo Festival dell’Animazione in Pordenone - Udine - Trieste - Gorizia.

"Animazioni", the anthology of animated shorts is back! Following the success of the first two editions here who is preparing the realization of DVD of the third selection of Italian animated film: a curious glance and without prejudices about the world of italian contemporary production.

L'antologia di corti animati “Animazioni” ritorna! Dopo il successo delle prime due edizioni ecco in preparazione il terzo DVD con una nuova selezione di film animati italiani: uno sguardo curioso e senza preconcetti sul mondo della produzione contemporanea d'autore in Italia.

Animation by Italian authors has, in these last five years, had the chance to develop by finding a skill in international communications, to which also the “Animazioni” (“Animations”) collections have contributed, so it is with renewed enthusiasm that we have reached number 3!
The orientation towards a European and transnational circulation of artistic movements is confirmed by the productions, co-productions and collaborations involving also other countries. Our horizons are not limited only to Italy, but start in Italy with a view to extending the possibilities of communication abroad.
The quality of the films, characterized by a decisive stylistic, technical and expressive differentiation, motivates us to go ahead with promoting and circulating them. Also with this aim in mind, we have founded the TRUKA label, by means of which we are trying to link up with the operators in this sector in Italy. It is a new challenge we are launching and which also marks this new collection of animated short films.

In questi ultimi cinque anni l’animazione d’autore italiana ha avuto modo di crescere trovando una capacità di comunicazione internazionale cui hanno contribuito anche le raccolte “Animazioni”. E' con rinnovato entusiasmo che a due anni dalla precedente pubblicazione prepariamo l'uscita di “Animazioni 3”.

L’orientamento verso una circolazione europea e transnazionale dei movimenti artistici si conferma con la presenza, in questa antologia di produzioni, co-produzioni e collaborazioni che coinvolgono anche altri paesi. L’orizzonte cui si guarda non è solo rivolto all’Italia, ma parte dall’Italia per ampliare le possibilità di dialogo verso l’esterno.
La qualità dei film, caratterizzati da una decisa differenziazione stilistica, tecnica ed espressiva, ci spinge a proseguire nell’azione di una loro promozione e diffusione. Anche con questa finalità abbiamo fondato l’etichetta TRUKA, per mezzo della quale stiamo cercando di collegare gli operatori del settore in Italia. E’ una nuova sfida che lanciamo e che sigla anche questa terza raccolta di cortometraggi d’animazione.

“Animazioni 3” publication is scheduled for the beginning of October 2014 and the official presentation of the DVD will be within the program of the 11th International Festival of Animated Film "Balkanima" to be held from 7th to 11th October 2014 in Belgrade (Serbia).

La pubblicazione di “Animazioni 3” è prevista per inizio Ottobre 2014 e la presentazione ufficiale del DVD avverrà all'interno del programma del Festival Internazionale di Cinema di Animazione “Balkanima” (11th European Animated Film Festival) che si terrà dal 7 all'11 Ottobre 2014 a Belgrado (Serbia).

Since the two previous editions of "Animazioni" has established a global audience of enthusiasts and faithful fans, the novelty of the third edition of the DVD is in the will to involve our fans in an operation to support the production of the third DVD and in a consolidation of a worldwide community of fans and friends who can give us back opinions, suggestions, tips and ideas for debate to continue in the years to come on the "Animazioni" adventure.
For lovers of Italian animation, move from the role of mere "fan" to that of co-producers believe it is an important act of responsibility and confidence in the project: the challenge is to transform itself from mere buyers of a product in an active partner of a cultural promotion project.

Visto che con le due edizioni precedenti di “Animazioni” si è costituita una platea mondiale di appassionati e fedeli estimatori, la novità della terza edizione del DVD sta nella volontà di coinvolgimento dei “fan” in una operazione di supporto alla produzione del terzo DVD e in un consolidamento di una comunità mondiale di appassionati e amici che possano restituirci opinioni, suggestioni, suggerimenti e spunti di dibattito per continuare negli anni a venire l'avventura di “Animazioni”.

Per gli appassionati di animazione italiana, passare dal ruolo di semplici “fan” a quello di co-produttori crediamo che sia un importante atto di responsabilità e di fiducia nel progetto: la sfida è trasformarsi da semplici acquirenti di un prodotto a partner attivi di un progetto di promozione culturale.

"Caterpillar and Hen" awarded at Festival "Plein la Bobine"

Il film "Il bruco e la gallina" realizzato dalle animatrici Michela Donini e Katya Rinaldi ha conseguito il Premio della Giuria Professionale nella Sezione "Compétition 3+" del Festival "Plein la Bobine" a La Bourboule (Francia).

"Feltrosa" è l'incontro annuale degli appassionati del feltro promosso dall’associazione culturale "Coordinamento Tessitori". Quest'anno, per la quarta edizione di Feltrosa, feltrai ed appassionati tornano in Alto Adige nella terra che ha visto il primo evento centrato sul feltro mai organizzato in Italia.

"Caterpillar and Hen" will be presented in Bressanone / Brixen (BZ) in "Feltrosa" program. 
"Feltrosa" is the annual meeting of felt fans promoted by the cultural association Coordinamento Tessitori. This year, for the fourth edition of Feltrosa, fans and felters come back in South Tyrol in the land that has seen the first event focused on the felt ever organized in Italy.
