A three-day workshop with Caroline Leaf, one of the most interesting figures of contemporary animation, to explore his job and learn the secrets of painting on glass, a technique that the Leaf has been able to re-interpret and use to its animations. The participants will observe at a practical demonstration of this technique and, together with the artist, will create their animated short.

Un workshop di tre giorni assieme a Caroline Leaf, una delle figure più interessanti dell'animazione contemporanea, per espolorare il suo lavoro e apprendere i segreti della pittura su vetro, una tecnica che la Leaf ha saputo reinterpretare e usare per le sue animazioni. I partecipanti al workshop assisteranno a una dimostrazione pratica di questa tecnica e potranno realizzare assieme all'artista il loro cortometraggio d'animazione.

Two Sisters (Canada, 1990)

Beside the workshop, Saturday, February 11 at 6:00 PM at Cinema Lumière in Bologna, meeting with Caroline Leaf and screening of a selection of his films (free admission).

Accanto al workshop, sabato 11 febbraio alle ore 18:00 al Cinema Lumière di Bologna, incontro-proiezione con Caroline Leaf (ingresso libero).

The Street (Canada, 1976)
 
Caroline Leaf began his career in 1968 with the movie "Sand or Peter and the Wolf". In 1972 he moved to Montreal (Canada) invited by the National Film Board made some of his works of greatest success: "The Owl Who Married a Goose", "The Street", "The Mentamorphosis of Mr. Samsa", "Interview" and "Two Sisters". Drawings on sand, oil painting on glass or scratches on film are always the result of a long journey that combines artistic sensitivity and craft work.

Caroline Leaf inizia la sua carriera nel 1968 con "Sand or Peter and the Wolf". Nel 1972 si trasferisce a Montreal su invito del National Film Board realizzando alcune delle sue opere di maggior successo: "The Owl Who Married a Goose", "The Street", "The Mentamorphosis of Mr. Samsa", "Interview" e "Two Sisters". Disegni su sabbia, pittura a olio su vetro o incisioni su pellicola sono sempre il frutto di un luogo percorso che unisce sensibilità artistica e lavoro artigianale.
